Updated June 2009!

Instead of tracking the twins - Nathan and Caitlyn, and Hailey separately, I am now just updating the GrandKids Baby Album. We will try to keep the pictures updated more frequently!

Nathan and Caitlyn Baby Album

Nathan and Caitlyn Baby Album

Last Update Aug 2008!

On March 19th, 2008, we all gathered at the hospital to welcome Nathan and Caitlyn! They were born two months premature - and stayed at the hospital 3 weeks before they could come home. Around the clock care, feeding at 3 hour intervals they exhausted everyone! They are doing great and had their first outing to a restaurant on Sept 7th, 2008 to celebrate my birthday.

Now you know why the website was not updated since March!

Hailey Hodge Baby Album

Hailey Hodge Baby Album

Last Update Aug 2008!

It has been quite a while since we updated the website with Hailey's pictures! She is almost 23 months old, and she has been to Walt Disney World twice, had a 1st birthday party, celebrated Christmas and welcomed her baby sister and brother! She is coping with the new babies better than we expected!

Sheridan's Baby Album

Sheridan's Baby Album

On July 23, 2006, we all gathered at the hospital to meet Sheridan, who was not yet one day old. She is the granddaughter of my best friend, Donna. Donna and I went to high school together and have kept in close touch over the years. Her daughter Erin is a Special Education teacher in the Cobb county school system. Stephanie and I were so excited to be hold Sheridan, she is a beautiful baby! Sheridan just turned 1 year old this week. We went to Erin's new home to celebrate the special occasion. Hailey played with Sheridan and Jack - one of her first play dates! Sam fried a turkey - it was wonderful, and Donna and Mrs. Paul prepared the entire menu - what a nice treat!

Charleston 2007

Charleston 2007

This June 2007 Charles and I went to Charleston for a short vacation. It had been about 12 years since our last visit, but the city is still beautiful and a favorite destination. At the Spoleto Festival we attended the first U.S. performances of the State Ballet of Georgia (Tbilisi); the company danced the classic Petipa version of Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake.

These photos are views of the old city, the ships on display at Patriot's Point and a ride over the new Charleston Cooper River bridge - which opened in 2006, replacing the scary open steel girder Grace bridge. Charles wanted to see the restoration effort of the CSS Hunley, the Confederate sub that sank in the harbor after sinking a Union supply vessel. It was raised in 2000 and they have recovered the remains of the 8 crewman, still at the crank mechanism.

Pensacola 2007

Pensacola 2007

In February 2007 Charles had to meet Mike in Destin for business, afterwards we traveled the short distance to our childhood home in Pensacola. I had the opportunity to go into the Pfeiffer home - where my father was born in 1909, and raised. Sold in 1985, it was painstakingly restored and I took the opportunity to take pictures of the beautiful woodwork and fireplace tiles while it was up for sale.

Ken Werhan Birthday

Birthday party for Ken Werhan

On Aug 26, 2006, Charles and I drove to Virginia Beach, VA to celebrate the 70th birthday of my cousin's husband, Ken Werhan. Ken was an attack pilot stationed at Oceana in Va Bch with the US Navy and flew the A-6 Intruder during Vietnam, ending his career as a Captain in 1985. He also retired earlier this year from his second career as a Defense Contractor. Kenís wife Ginger and daughter Kerry organized the party and included friends, former Navy squadron mates and family. Charles and I lived in VA Beach while Charles was an Air Intelligence Officer in the Navy, attached to a fighter squadron, and have many fond memories of our time spent with their family.

Walt Disney World - Thanksgiving 2005

In November 2005 over the Thanksgiving Holiday, Charles and I went to Walt Disney World with Mike and Stephanie. Stephanie arranged everything, from lunch and dinner reservations to attendance to special events. What a wonderful time we all had! A great visit and I wanted to share our favorite photos with you.

Blue Angels Air Show

Blue Angels

In November 2005, Charles and I were in Pensacola and attended the Blue Angels Practice Air Show given on the NAS Pensacola base. Small crowd, less than 500 people made for a wonderful viewing experience! Enjoy our favorite photos of this extraordinary flying demonstration.

Blue Angels Official Photos

To see some inspiring Blue Angels photos, here is a collection from official US Navy sources. Enjoy!

Chihuly exhibit - Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Chihuly exhibit

In October 2004, Charles and I attended the special exhibit of Dale Chihuly glass at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. A magnificant exhibit, the glass seemed to be placed in the exhibit so cleverly that hunting the works was like looking for Easter eggs! A great visit and I wanted to share our favorite photos with you.

NYC May 2004 - Vacation

New York Trip

In May 2004,my friend Belinda and I flew to New York to finish a trip that was interrupted in 1998 by an emergency hospitalization for Charles. This past Christmas he gave Belinda and I plane tickets to go back. We stayed in Cold Spring, N.Y. at the home of Belinda's sister and brother-in-law. We did sightseeing alternating between the countryside and the city. It was a great visit and I wanted to share my favorite photos with you.

Paris

Paris

In September 2002, Charles and I took our dream trip to Paris, spending eight days in this beautiful city. We only left the city to see Versailles, and everyone we met was quite nice. We hope you enjoy these pictures - we can't wait to go back and take more.

Mike and Stephanie Wedding

Michael's Wedding Album

In May 2001, Michael married Stephanie Hoffarth in a lovely ceremony in Hendersonville, Tennessee. All of our guests stayed at the nearby hotel where the reception was, and made for a wonderful and memorable event. Hope you enjoy these pictures!
